In Vedic astrology, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu and Sun are considered cruel planets. Mars is the cruelest planet afflicting the birth horoscope of a person. If placed unfavorably, Mars is the most damaging planet for the married life.
Mars positioned in first, second, fourth, seventh, eighth or twelfth house in a Kundali creates Mangal Dosha. Mangal Dosha should be checked not only in Lagna chart but also in Moon chart and Venus chart. A person is Non-Manglik only if none of the three charts is afflicted by Mars. Mangal Dosha is also known as Kuja Dosha and Bhauma Dosha. The person having Mangal Dosha is known as Manglik.
When Mars is in the First House :
Since the first house is the ‘House of the Spouse’, when a Manglik gets married to a Non-Manglik, it leads to unnecessary conflicts between the two, many times leading to physical violence. This disrupts normal married life leading to breakups and separation.
When Mars is in the Second House:
When Mars is active and negative in the second house, it damages the marriage and married life of the native, leading to a divorce and a second marriage.
When Mars is in the Fourth House:
The Planet in the fourth house will adversely affect the native professionally and will keep him dissatisfied with his job, making him switch one job for another. S/he will also perpetually be in financial trouble.
When Mars is in Seventh House:
The fiery Planet will manifest itself in short-temper in native. S/he will be dominating, pushy and impose his opinion on others in the family, leading to misunderstandings and domestic conflicts.
When Mars is in the Eight House:
Mars presence in the eight house makes the native lazy. He will show erratic moods-composed for some time and losing temper suddenly, leaving the family confused. Mars in this house makes the native highly sexually active and they need a partner who will compliment them.
The native could be prone to accidents when Mars is in this house.
When Mars is in the Twelfth House:
Mars will create mental unrest in the native and the feeling of failure will haunt him. The aggression will add to their unpleasant nature and will create problems when dealing with people. The presence of Mars here will give the native desire to indulge in illegal unions with other people.
Cancellation of Manglik Dosha :
Primarily if Mars is placed in the ascendant in Aries, Leo or Aquarius sign, the bad effects of Mangal Dosha will be cancelled. So this placement will automatically lead to cancellation of Manglik Dosha.
When Mars is in its own sign or in the houses owned by his friends, Manglik Dosha gets cancelled.
If Mars is in the 2nd house but in Virgo or Gemini sign, Manglik Dosha does not get formed.
If Mars is in Sagittarius (Dhanu) or Pisces (Meen) in 8th house, the Manglik dosha is only partial (anshik).
If Mars is in own sign, i.e. in Aries or Scorpio (Mesh or Vrishchik), the effects are diluted and the Manglik dosha is partial only.
If Mars is in Gemini or Virgo in 2nd house, there is no Manglik dosha.
If Mars is in Taurus or Libra in 12th house, the Manglik Dosha is diluted.
If Mars is aspected by a benefic planet having natural beneficial and positive influences, opposite to malefic planet e.g. Jupiter, Manglik dosha is not present.
If Venus is in Ascendant (lagna), there is no Manglik dosha.
If Mars is exalted, i.e.in Capricorn (Makar) or in own sign (Aries or Scorpio) in Navamsha. In Indian Vedic astrology, this is the 1/9th divisional chart (varga), powerful and the most important of 16 charts (varga), mainly related to marriage prediction. Predictions are made through position of planets in various houses of Navamsha chart, quite similar to the judgments are given according to the position of planets in different houses in astrological natal charts. This chart is not used in western astrology chart. The Manglik effect or Mangal Dosha is nullified and cancelled if Mars is exalted in Navamsha.
If Venus is in exalted sign, i.e. in Pisces, in 1st, 4th, 7th house in a native’s birth chart, there is no Manglik dosha.
If both boy and girl are Manglik, Manglik dosha is cancelled.
Manglik Dosha Remedies :
From the first Tuesday of a new month in a rising moon period Start a fast. Chant the Hanuman Chalisa daily.
From a Tuesday start chanting the Sunder Kand from the Tulsi Ramcharitmanas for 40 days continuously.
Being a Manglik one has to undergo Kumbha Vivah, Vishnu Vivah and Ashwatha Vivah. Ashwatha vivaha means the marriage with peepal or banana tree and cut the tree after that. Kumbha Vivah, also called Ghata Vivah means marriage with a pot and to break it after that.
Keep orange colured idol of Lord Ganesha in worship room and worship daily.
If both the partners are Mangliks then this dosha gets nullified. All its ill- effects are cancelled and the two can have a blessed and happy married life.
